From Battlefield to Bedding Specialist
Mattress Gallery Direct first got its start in the outskirts of the ‘music city’: Nashville, TN. Opening its first location in Murfreesboro, TN, Mattress Gallery Direct has since expanded to five retail locations. Additionally having serviced over fifty-thousand clients over its 35 years in operation. With customer satisfaction being its main priority, Mattress Gallery Direct has established itself today as the highest rated mattress store in Middle Tennessee.
The founder, Mike Duncan, was born in “The Natural State” of Arkansas. With a passion for the saxophone, Mike would end up becoming a music teacher and marrying his highschool sweetheart, Susan, who was also a teacher. They would eventually give birth to three sons (Michael, Billy, and David) who all shared a passion for music as well.
The family traveled the country, entertaining thousands of people with their musical talents as the family band performed in a variety of venues. Seeking to enhance their musical knowledge, the family would eventually move to Murfreesboro, TN so that the sons could attend classes at MTSU in pursuit of degrees in music.
Seeing an opportunity in the Tennessee mattress market, Mike would eventually create Mattress Gallery Direct. Being an authentic family owned and operated business, Mike’s three sons would help run the organization, working in all areas of the business. After years in operation, fate would eventually bring them to meet Austin and Jessy.
Both Austin and Jessy were born in the sunshine state of Florida. Seeing a need to serve their country, they both enlisted into the United States Army following high school graduation. Although unacquainted prior to their stint in the military, Austin and Jessy would grow to become best friends during their military service. With a passion for helping others, both men enlisted as combat medics and provided healthcare to countless sick and wounded service members throughout their military careers, to include in the battlefields of Afghanistan where they both earned their combat medical badges.
After separating from the military with honorable discharges, both men would return to their home state of Florida where they attended Keiser University, graduating with degrees in Business Administration. With a thrill for adventure, both Austin and Jessy moved to Tennessee following college graduation, where they would come to link up with the Duncan family.
Within their first year of employment at Mattress Gallery Direct, both Jessy and Austin displayed competence and commitment to customer satisfaction, and were entrusted to manage the two busiest locations of Mike’s mattress empire. They would eventually be promoted to senior level positions, working directly under Mike, learning all facets of the trade. Throughout their five years of employment, Jessy and Austin have helped thousands of clients with their bedding needs, and have received glowing reviews from their clients on both Google and the company’s internal review system.
Seeing a need to service the growing Texas market with their expertise, Mattress Gallery Direct has decided to open its sixth location in Georgetown, TX. Austin and Jessy are spearheading the company’s expansion into the Texas market, and look forward to providing Texans with the same commitment to excellence that they provided their patients with on the battlefield, and their bedding client’s with in Tennessee!
