From Battlefield to Bedding Specialist

Austin and Jessy both grew up in Florida and felt a strong call to serve their country. After high school they enlisted in the United States Army as combat medics. Though they didn’t know each other before joining, they became close friends during their service. They provided medical care to fellow service members in challenging environments, including the battlefields of Afghanistan, where both earned their Combat Medical Badges.

After receiving honorable discharges, the two returned to Florida and enrolled at Keiser University, where they earned degrees in Business Administration. Their military experience instilled a deep commitment to helping others, attention to detail, and a customer-first mindset—qualities they carried into civilian life.

Motivated by a desire to build something of their own and bring exceptional service to a growing market, Austin and Jessy decided to open Mattress Gallery Direct in Central Texas. They set out to create a low-pressure shopping experience focused on quality sleep solutions, genuine care for customers’ health and comfort, and great mattresses at fair prices. Today they continue that mission as veteran-owned and operated stores in the Georgetown and Pflugerville areas.
